As a result of the impending HS2 works, vacancies have arisen for temporary multi-skilled Terminal operatives at our Birmingham Terminal for the construction phase of HS2.

The Temporary Multi-Skilled Terminal Operative role will be fixed term for a minimum period of 15 months from February 2018.

All positions are safety critical and will involve shift work, including night turns of duty and weekends.

The successful candidates should have the ability to work as part of a team and have a flexible approach to working.

As Temporary Multi-Skilled Terminal Operative you will need to be proficient in a number of disciplines including:

The driving of all plant on the terminal.

Shunting of rail wagons as well as train preparation.

Experience in container handling equipment would be an advantage.

Knowledge of the rail industry is preferable as you will also be required to become proficient in train preparation duties and shunting.

A good understanding of IT systems to be able to process vehicle/container traffic through the Terminal.
